A pedestrian was critically injured Saturday night when he was struck by a vehicle while walking on Highway 246 in Lompoc, according to the California Highway Patrol . Bradley Blackwell, 47, of Lompoc was attempting to cross Highway 246 near Sweeney Road from the northbound side at about 8 p.m. when he walked directly into the path of a Toyota Sienna, the CHP said. The impact propelled Blackwell over the guard rail, and he suffered major injuries. He was flown by helicopter to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
